a Whitsundays chronicle
Seven days among the islands aboard the superyacht Masteka 2, told a day at a time.
The Whitsundays, Queensland · 25 – 31 July 2026
The album builds as the trip does: a page for each day, photos from the group chat, the story written at anchor.
Two playlists carried this week — one for the dance floor, one for golden hour on the aft deck. Both live on, on Spotify:
Thirty-seven metres of Kha Shing build and Dubois styling, launched in 2009 and nominated for Superyacht of the Year in her class the same year. She is one of Australia's best-known charter yachts: Sydney Harbour in the summer months, then north with the winter to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef, with seasons in Fiji, New Caledonia and Vanuatu besides.
Five cabins sleep up to twelve guests, with a full-beam master suite on the main deck and a crew of seven who know these waters well.
Photos from the trip WhatsApp chat land in photos/_inbox/. Cowork sorts them into each day's folder, and the day pages pick them up automatically; empty frames simply wait until their photo exists.
Say "add today's photos" and the day's page gets its hero, its figures and a first draft of the story.
